Default GW has sold over 7 mio copies

According to this website (in german) gamesbiz and Véronique Lallier, Managing Director EU Publishing NCSoft West, GW sold over 91k copies each month after the breach of the 6 mio mark and has reached the 7 mio mark by now.

I need to find another source, but congrats anyway.

There's so little they actually tell us about what that number actually means, besides something for marketing to spin.

*Is that 7 million boxes, or 7 million fullpriced products?
*Does a trilogy count as three sales?
*Does EotN count as a sale?
*How many of these actually turn into accounts anyway?

Even if trilogy for < $20 = 3 boxes (which is most likely), I still find the numbers impressively climbing for such an old, "dead" game. Between death of XTH, 7 heroes, and an increasing number of account-specific percs like costumes and merc heroes, I doubt these are just spare accounts being bought up either.

And doesn't that also include massive amounts of botting accs?

You're saying botters are fueling the anet moneymachine? Liking that alot, it's ok to exploit those who exploited you. Atleast in this case.

Many of those copies are the same person seeking more storage or before the 7 hero update, 6 heroes.

However, it's still profit; so congrats to Arenanet.

Yea I have 2 accounts myself, I bought all the games individually, then the GW Complete set for £20.

I didnt need a second account, but at £20 for the full set of games I thought I may as well have it.

So how many sales does that count as?

Not all bot accounts are bought. Many are stolen from real players.
